As the downtown area of Lugansk is a whopping 20/20 (20-cent, 20-minute bus ride) from my house, I can see that it will already be a pretty fun place to hang out and explore. Much unlike the guidebook explanation of the place, I found Lugansk's mixture of Soviet-era buildings and public spaces with Eastern European and Slavic tendencies to be quite nice, especially on a sunshiny day:

ReplyDeleteYes, you know EXACTLY what I've been working on! I've been eating most of my Ukrainian meals at the school canteen, so first post will be about that! Hoping to hit up some Ukrainian restaurants in Kiev when I'm there in a few weeks, so I'll have some delicious photos for you (the food here is soooooo good, but people don't really go out to eat much...they get homecooked meals by their babushkas!!)
